Men's Tennis Cruises to Patriot League Semifinals with 4-0 Win over Colgate

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The No. 3 seeded Boston University men's tennis team opened the Patriot League tournament with a 4-0 victory at No. 6 Colgate on Friday afternoon.
The Terriers (13-11) won the first two doubles matches for the early 1-0 lead and then captured three singles points in straight sets to eliminate the host Raiders (5-16).
Freshman Alejandro Licea went 2-0 to help BU earn its first PL semifinal appearance since 2019. He first teamed with sophomore Dion Loutas for a 6-1 victory in the top doubles match and then posted a 6-4, 6-4 victory on singles court No. 3. Junior Johann Sajonz and sophomore Adrian Pawlowski prevailed in the other doubles contest, 6-4, at line 3.
Freshman Corey Craig put on the most dominating performance, as he won all 12 games for the 6-0, 6-0 victory in the No. 2 slot. Sophomore Cole Knutsen clinched the team victory by posting a 6-4, 6-4 win at line 4.
BU will next face No. 2 Army West Point, who opened its tournament with a 4-0 win over No. 7 Lafayette Friday evening. The PL semifinals will begin with doubles at 2 p.m. following the No. 1 Navy-No. 5 Bucknell match at 10 a.m.
