No. 2 Lightweight Rowing Set For Eastern Sprints On Sunday

BOSTON – The second-ranked Boston University lightweight rowing program closes out the month of April with a test against the top crews in the country at the 2023 Eastern Sprints on Sunday (April 30) on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.

The Terriers, who remained second in the Lightweight Women's Varsity 8+ Poll on April 26, will send out five crews in the lightweight category, which begins at 12:10 p.m. BU squares off against No. 1 Princeton, No. 3 Georgetown, No. 5 Harvard-Radcliffe, No. 6 Wisconsin, and Gordon across the entries.
BU returns to the water for the first time in two weeks after taking part in the Knecht Cup in New Jersey from April 15-16. Six different Terrier boats recorded top-three events, including wins in the Lightweight 4 and Lightweight 8. BU won two medals in the Women's Double, and one in the Varsity 4 and Varsity 8.
Last year, the Terriers finished in the top-three in three of the five races. The Lightweight 4 "B" boat was victorious in a time of 7:45.338. Each lightweight doubles crew medaled in their respective categories.
Following Sunday's racing, BU returns to the Charles River to host No. 4 Stanford for Senior Day on Saturday (May 6). The races will air on ESPN+.
