HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU's first shot came just 52 seconds in, as senior Lily Matthews turned towards the top-left corner of the box for a shot, but it slowly rolled to Sim.
- Loyola Maryland got on the board when DeSmit's lead pass along the left sideline allowed Kuminkoski to break towards goal. She zipped a ball on Braun that trickled off the goalkeeper's left hip and in.
- Gianino nearly leveled the score just two minutes later when her 20-yard shot at the top of the box narrowly sailed over the crossbar.
- In the 24th minute, freshman Kaiya Stewart intercepted a Greyhound clear just outside the box, and found Godoy for a shot the sophomore blasted wide of the right post.
- Shortly thereafter, Loyola Maryland earned three-consecutive corner kicks. Malia Tarazon had a shot blocked, while Kuminkoski's header floated high on the last chance.
- In the second half, Gianino unleashed a shot atop the box that hooked wide left in the 51st minute.
- Nearly 15 minutes later, Godoy placed a shot under 25 yards out on Sim towards the right post.
- Senior Grace Ferrara denied DeSmit's chance 1-on-1 a minute afterward, then Braun lined up Elizabeth Gallagher's chance for her lone save.
- Junior Eileen Solomon flicked a shot towards the net in the 84th minute, but it carried over the woodwork.
- Godoy had a shot blocked with 4:31 to play that turned into a Terrier corner kick, but BU's offense couldn't generate a shot.
- Loyola Maryland outshot BU, 11-9. Both teams had two shots on goal.
- The sides also each recorded four corner kicks.
- Each team was issued one yellow card.
- Braun, Gianino, Ferrara, Solomon, and sophomore Mackenzie Stickelman all played the full 90 minutes.
- The Terriers allowed just their second goal in the first half all season. The first came at Northwestern on Aug. 31.
- BU falls to 6-4-1 all-time in its Patriot League lidlifters.
- Gianino has totaled six games with three or more shots in 2023.
- Godoy has three-straight games with a shot on target.
- BU's all-time record vs. Loyola Maryland now sits at 9-2-3, with the Greyhounds picking up their first win in Boston.
