September 6, 2023 | Women's Basketball
BOSTON – A 29-game schedule featuring 16 home events highlights the Boston University women's basketball team's 2023-24 schedule, which was officially announced on Wednesday.
Season tickets are now available. Ticket plans include all home games for both women's and men's basketball throughout the 2023-24 campaign. Links are available at the top of the article for those who wish to renew or purchase season tickets. Single-game tickets will go on sale at a later date.
BU, the defending Patriot League regular season champion, will play 11 non-conference contests before its traditional 18-game league slate. The Terriers play programs from 10 different conferences across seven different states: the America East, Ivy League, MAAC, NEC, Big Sky, Pac-12, A-10, GNAC and the CAA.
The Terriers open the year at Case Gym against UMass Lowell on Nov. 6. BU opened the 2021-22 slate at home against the River Hawks, and played in Lowell a season ago.
That game marks the first of three consecutive home games, the latter two against foes BU faced in 2022-23. New Hampshire comes to Terrier Town on Nov. 10, followed by Yale on Nov. 14.
BU's following two games feature first-time opponents. The Terriers head to Rider for their road opener on Nov. 18. On Nov. 22, BU returns to Case Gym for a matchup against Le Moyne, who will compete in its first season in Division I.
After Thanksgiving, the Terriers travel to the Centennial State for a pair of contests, starting with Northern Colorado on Nov. 26. Two days later, BU takes on Colorado in Boulder on Nov. 28.
BU returns to The Roof for another three-game homestand, starting with Saint Joseph's on Dec. 5. Harvard crosses the Mass Pike on Dec. 9, then Division III opponent Emmanuel takes the Green Line to Case Gym on Dec. 12.
The Terriers close out the non-conference calendar with a short trek to Northeastern on Dec. 22.
Patriot League play begins on Jan. 3, 2024, as Navy makes the trip to The Roof. BU's final regular season home game will be a rematch of the 2023 Patriot League Championship when Holy Cross comes to town for a Turnpike Trophy doubleheader with men's basketball on March 2. The regular season concludes on March 6 when the Terriers journey to Colgate.
The Terriers come off a 24-victory season in 2022-23, the second-highest win total in program history. BU became the third Patriot League team in program history to record 17 league wins, and hosted the Patriot League title game at Case Gym for the second time in three years.
Reigning Patriot League Coach of the Year Melissa Graves will begin her third season at the helm, with First and Third Team All-Patriot League selections Caitlin Weimar and Alex Giannaros, respectively, also return to the fold.
