Men's Basketball to Host Lafayette in PL Home Opener Saturday Afternoon

BOSTON – The Boston University men's basketball team will open a two-game homestand against Lafayette on Saturday at Case Gym with a 1 p.m. start time.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is 3-2 at home following last Saturday's 74-63 victory over defending NEC champion Merrimack. The Terriers also own wins over Bryant (95-79) and VTSU Johnson (90-49).
  • In Wednesday's 62-60 loss at Navy, senior Anthony Morales became the 11th Terrier to reach double figures this season with 11 points in his fifth contest after missing the first nine games due to injury.
  • Senior Miles Brewster also had 11 points to increase his scoring average to a team-best 10.0 ppg alongside 2.9 apg and 1.4 spg.
  • Sophomore Otto Landrum (8.6 ppg) leads BU in rebounding at 6.2 rpg after hauling in nine boards against the Midshipmen.
  • The Terriers will be without junior forward Malcolm Chimezie and senior forward Andrew Patndoe for the rest of the season due to injury.
  • BU is averaging 65.5 ppg and 40.8 FG% while holding opponents to 66.0 ppg and 42.1 FG%.
SCOUTING LAFAYETTE
  • The Leopards snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 52-47 home win over Army West Point this past Wednesday. They claimed their other win against Wilkes (69-53) back on Nov. 19.
  • In Lafayette's two single-digit losses, the Leopards came up short at Penn (74-72) and to Cornell (79-71).
  • Eric Sondberg leads the Leopards at 9.6 ppg alongside 4.1 rpg, while Kyle Jenkins owns a team-high 4.8 rpg with 8.1 ppg.
  • Justin Vander Baan (8.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg) has earned 31 blocks, just two below BU's combined total, and Mark Butler leads Lafayette at 3.5 apg alongside 20 steals.
  • Lafayette is averaging 58.4 ppg and 37.8 FG% while holding opponents to 69.7 ppg and 43.0 FG%.
SERIES HISTORY
  • BU leads the all-time series, 19-9, after both home teams won in overtime last season by four points apiece with the Terriers scoring the last bucket at the end of regulation both times.
  • The Terriers have 14 points back from the 73-69 victory after Brewster tallied 12 points.
