Schwertner Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Boston University women's basketball freshman Allison Schwertner has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the week of Nov. 25, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
The award is Schwertner's first in her collegiate career and the first a Terrier has earned this season. She is the first Terrier to capture the league's Rookie of the Week honor since teammate Audrey Ericksen did so on Jan. 22. Overall, she has secured the 11th Patriot League Rookie of the Week award and 25th overall weekly honor for a Terrier in program history.
The Littleton, Colo. native paced BU's offense in a 67-57 victory over reigning America East champion Maine on Nov. 21. The freshman dropped a career high 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field. She also made six free throws, while adding eight rebounds and two steals.
Schwertner has started all four games for the Terriers this season. She ranks second on BU with nine points per game while sporting a team best 24 rebounds and nine steals.
BU continues its three-game homestand on Wednesday (Nov. 27) when it hosts Georgetown. Opening tip is set for Noon.
