Freshman Markus Ramsey netted his first career goal in the second half off senior Daniel Kim's corner kick after the Bears (2-2-1) scored all five of their goals during the first 45 minutes of action against the Terriers (1-2-4).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU suffered an unlucky break in the fourth minute when a long pass deflected off a Terrier right to Lorenzo Amaral, who ripped a 20-yard shot high over the outstretched arms of graduate student Andrew Wike.
- The Terriers earned a corner in the 12th minute, but junior Diego Rived's header sailed high over the crossbar.
- The Bears struck again with Stefano D'Agostini heading in a curling free kick from Amaral at 17:28.
- Mads Stistrup Petersen added another goal in the 38th minute on the run with a 25-yard low shot inside the right post.
- Brown added two more goals off set pieces, first on Amaral's curling and high-arching free kick at 39:42.
- Petersen followed up with a corner kick that bounced off the far post right to the foot of Andre Romo for a quick strike and 5-0 lead.
- In the second half, the Terriers posted a 4-3 advantage in shots with Henrik Weiper earning two saves for the Bears.
- Ramsey helped BU avoid the shutout by firing a low shot from the top of the box through a wall of players at 89:05.
- Ramsey became the seventh Terrier to score a goal this season.
- Kim now owns a team-high two assists and is tied with reigning Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week Andrea Di Blasio at four points apiece.
- Wike earned two saves in the first half, and junior Ben Alexander added a save in the second half.
- Sophomore Charlie Tuckerman led BU with three shots, including two on goal.
- Brown finished with a 15-6 lead in shots and 6-5 edge in corner kicks.
- The Bears became the first opponent to score five goals since BU dropped a 5-3 decision at Lehigh in 2021.
- The Terriers will return to Patriot League play with a flight down south to Loyola Maryland on Saturday (Sept. 21) at 3 p.m.
- BU has won the last two meetings with a 3-1 home victory last fall and a 1-0 road win in 2022.
