HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU needed just 25 seconds to place a shot on goal, as Gianino worked free from a Harvard marker to poke a bouncing shot that Stewart tipped to the left. Harvard cleared the ensuing corner kick.
- Jasmine Leshnick nearly finished a cross from the left corner in the fifth minute, but her touch by the right post sailed wide right of the post.
- Neither team recorded a shot from that point until the 27th minute, when Fagan worked around her defender at the top-right corner of the 18-yard box for a shot that zipped wide left.
- On Harvard's goal in the 32nd minute, Golen entered the box on a move to her left and flicked a cross towards the right post. Long, who had just entered the game, beat Braun with her left foot.
- The Crimson recorded the first shot after halftime, when Leshnick's 20-yard blast was sent wide left in the 50th minute.
- The visitors continued to threaten in the 57th minute, but Braun easily collected a Golen header for her first save of the night.
- Braun made two stops in the 64th minute on Sarah Lloyd. After the netminder interrupted a cross that later hit the post, she denied Llyod in front of the left iron, then smothered the Crimson forward's second attempt at the same spot.
- The Terriers' final chance came from Aronson's boot in the 76th minute following Fagan's cross from the right corner, but the sophomore's shot carried over the crossbar.
- Shots favored Harvard 8-3, including a 6-1 edge in the second half.
- The Crimson had two corner kicks compared to the Terriers' one, with all three occurring in the first 45 minutes.
- Freshman Jaiden Schultz sustained the lone yellow card of the match in the 59th minute.
- Braun, Gianino, and defenders Helene Tyburczy and Allison Hanlon played the entire 90 minutes.
- Hanlon has played the full match in back-to-back games for the first time in her career.
- Tyburczy did so for the first time as a Terrier.
- BU's three shots were its fewest in a game since Aug. 31, 2023 at Northwestern.
- Five of the Terriers' first six matches have been decided by one or fewer goals.
- BU has lost back-to-back games for the first time since Aug. 28-Sept. 4, 2022.
- The all-time series between BU and Harvard is now even at 10-10-6.
- BU begins a four-game road swing on Sunday (Sept. 8) at UNH. Opening kick is slated for 2 p.m.
