BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the third time in the 2025 season, Boston University women's soccer senior
Giulianna Gianino has been tabbed as the Patriot League Midfielder of the Week, the conference announced on Monday (Oct. 27).
Gianino's third honor paces all Patriot League student-athletes. The Norwell, Mass. product has earned the recognition six times in her career and eight weekly awards overall.
In BU's 4-0 win over Lehigh on Saturday (Oct. 25), Gianino supplied a goal and two assists. She dispossessed a Mountain Hawk defender on the back line and finished a 1-on-1 opportunity against the keeper in the 10th minute. She followed that up with two assists in under two minutes, including one on a corner kick, in the second half.
With the effort, Gianino moved into a tie for fifth place in program history with 71 career points, becoming the first Terrier in 14 years to reach the 70-point plateau. She also has 11 assists in 2025, tied for the single-season program record. This year, she is the only student-athlete to rank in the top five across the Patriot League's offensive statistical categories: shots, shots on goal, goals, assists, game-winning goals and points.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Bridget Carr was an honorable mention after registering five saves in the shutout win over Lehigh. During Patriot League play, she ranks first in goals-against average (.308) and save percentage (.909).
BU vies for the Patriot League regular season championship when it takes on Colgate on Wednesday (Oct. 29). Opening kick at Nickerson Field is set for 6 p.m.
