TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU opened the 2025 campaign with a 9-7 win at Siena last Saturday.
- The Terriers never trailed, building a 4-0 halftime lead and holding the Saints scoreless for the first 32:55 of the contest.
- Siena twice got within a goal of BU and had the ball with a chance to tie in the final minute, but sophomore Luke Davis forced a turnover and won the ball back on the ride to eventually set up freshman Timothy Shannehan's fourth and final goal of the day.
- Shannehan finished his Terrier debut with five points (4g, 1a) en route to being named Patriot League Rookie of the Week
- Junior Jimmy Kohr scored two goals while senior Jimmy O'Connell notched a goal and an assist.
- Freshman Ben Morris and junior Charlie Huntley also found the back of the net while freshman Mike Rooney, junior Connor Kehm and junior Matt Freeman each had a helper.
- Senior Will Barnes, the reigning PL Goalkeeper of the Week, stopped all six shots he faced in the first half as part of a 12-save performance in which he allowed just four goals during settled 6-on-6 situations.
- Kehm and sophomore Logan Styles led BU with three caused turnovers apiece, with Kehm adding five ground balls.
- Freeman collected a team-high six ground balls and also had one caused turnover in his first-ever start at close defense.
- BU, a perennial leader in caused turnovers per game, is eighth in the NCAA after forcing 13 of Siena's 25 turnovers.
- Barnes, Kehm and senior faceoff specialist Matthew Fritz were named to the preseason All-New England Team on Thursday.
- Kohr, O'Connell and Shannehan all earned their first-ever starts at attack, marking the first time since the Terriers' inaugural game in 2014 that they had three first-time starters at attack.
ANOTHER NEW OPPONENT FOR BU
- Friday will mark the first time that BU and Monmouth face off against one another.
- The Hawks will become the 32nd different Division I team the Terriers have faced in their 12-year history.
- This comes a week after BU met Siena for the first time in program history.
- Every other opponent on the Terriers' schedule this year is someone they have previously faced.
SCOUTING MONMOUTH
- The Hawks also opened their 2025 campaign last Saturday, suffering a 9-7 setback to Manhattan.
- Monmouth held a 2-0 lead after the first quarter and was ahead at the half, 4-3, before Manhattan tied the game and scored the only two goals of the fourth frame.
