Terriers Stand in Fourth After Opening Day of PL Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. - After two season-best performances in relays and two top-seven finishes in the 3-meter dive on Wednesday, the Boston University women's swimming & diving team stands in fourth place after the opening day of the Patriot League Championships at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.

Senior Sophia Souza, the two-time defending champion in the 3-meter, was second after prelims and placed fourth in the finals with a score of 267.45. Classmate Marina Cataldo took seventh, posting a score of 259.95.

In the 200-yard medley relay, freshman Abby Han, sophomore Stephanie Liu, sophomore Milena Busma and senior Summer Brainin posted a season-best time of 1:42.68 to place seventh.

The 800-yard freestyle relay also placed seventh with a season-best time as junior Haley Newman, sophomore Izzy Valantiejus, junior Stella Langenbach and senior Sasha Ramey finished in 7:28.12.

BU finished the day with 145 points and will enter Thursday 17 points behind third-place Bucknell.
