Ersan, Goodness Repeat on CRCA Athletes to Watch List
February 27, 2025 | Women's Lightweight Rowing
WILMINGTON, Del. – Boston University lightweight rowing junior Zoey Goodness and sophomore Ela Ersan were selected as Athletes To Watch as part of the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association's (CRCA) Preseason Watch, the organization announced on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
The CRCA Athletes To Watch list is in its second season, spotlighting lightweight student-athletes as well as openweight rowers across Divisions I, II, and III. Goodness and Ersan were among eight lightweight rowers and one coxswain on the list. BU, Georgetown, and Wisconsin were the lone programs with multiple rowers selected.
Ersan occupied the Terriers' Varsity and Lightweight 8 for the majority of the previous spring campaign. In the five seat, she helped the crew place third at the Eastern Sprints and fourth at the IRA National Championship Regatta. She went on to compete in the Championship Lightweight Singles at the Henley Women's Regatta last summer, qualifying for the Godfrey Rowsports Trophy and advancing to the quarterfinal round.
Goodness was in the six seat for the Lightweight 8 at last year's IRA Championship. After rowing in the same seat for BU's Aspirational Academic 8+ at the Henley Women's Regatta and reaching the Colgan Foundation Cup quarterfinals, she helped the Terrier Lightweight 8+ earn silver for the second consecutive year at the Head of the Charles this fall.
