Terrier Boats Claim Four Medals to Conclude Knecht Cup

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The Boston University women's lightweight rowing program wrapped up competition at the 2026 Knecht Cup Regatta on the Cooper River, with BU taking home two event wins in the Women's Double and the Second Varsity 8+ and four medals overall.
Women's Double kicked of the day with two BU crews in both the Petite Final and Grand Final. BU's "A" crew of senior Zoe Meurer (bow) and Catherine Clark (stroke) highlighted the 2X competition with a win in the Grand Final, finishing in 8:48.60. The "B" boat of freshmen Jaxinn Kearns (bow) and Sidra Sanders (stroke) took fifth, just behind Wisconsin's "A" boat and ahead of Harvard-Radcliffe's top boat by nearly nine seconds.
The Second Varsity 8+ and Varsity 8+ boats both qualified for the Grand Finals after finishing first and second in their semifinals, respectively. The Second Varsity 8+, coxed by junior Lylah Nag and stroked by junior Mia Seibert finished in 6:58.23 to win the event with a 0.03 second lead over second-place Temple. The Varsity 8+, coxed by freshman Amna Rezvi and stroked by senior Caroline Burchette, finished in sixth with a time of 7:05.82.
BU collected the silver medal in the Lightweight 8+ Final when it finished second in a time of 6:55.72. The crew, coxed by sophomore Mira Saldanha and stroked by Burchette finished just under three seconds behind Harvard-Radcliffe who took the win.
The Lightweight 4+ crew also brought home a medal. The "A" boat, coxed by Saldanha and stroked by junior Cece Mason, turned in a time of 8:26.92 to finish third behind Wisconsin and Harvard-Radcliffe. BU's "B" boat, coxed by Nag and stroked by junior Emilia Vukasinovic, finished sixth with a time of 8:42.40.
In the 2X Petite Final, BU's 2X "D" crew of junior Chloe Capizzi (bow) and junior Kelly Shashaty (stroke) came in fifth and the "C" crew of freshman Aviva Chen-Oretsky (bow) and junior Natalie Reilly (stroke) came in sixth.
