Shannehan at No. 3 in Inside Lacrosse Early Season Freshman Impact Rankings

BALTIMORE - Freshman Timothy Shannehan of the Boston University men's lacrosse team is No. 3 in Inside Lacrosse's Early Season Freshman Impact Rankings, the publication announced on Wednesday.
Shannehan is one of 30 first-year players to be on the list, with classmate Madden Murphy receiving an honorable mention. Including honorable mentions, eight Patriot League players received recognition for their early-season performances.
A native of Fairfield, Connecticut, Shannehan has been spectacular as the Terriers opened the season with a 6-1 record. He leads BU in points (36) and assists (18) and is second on the squad with 18 goals. Nationally, Shannehan is eighth in the NCAA with 2.57 assists per game and ninth in the country with 5.14 points per game. He leads all rookies in total points, points per game and assists per game.
Shannehan has recorded at least two points in all seven games, highlighted by a nine-point day (5g, 4a) at Bucknell on March 8 in which he scored four goals and added a career-best five assists to become just the second Terrier freshman to post a nine-point effort. Shannehan also scored a career-high five goals and secured two assists in a 15-7 win over Air Force on Feb. 22.
