Christy Chen, the Boston University women's golf team wrapped up its regular season by claiming the title at the Navy Spring Invitational on Sunday at the United States Naval Academy Golf Club.
Han and Chen each shot a 2-under 70 on Sunday as Han claimed the individual title at 3-under (71-70--141) and Chen was runner-up three strokes behind (74-40--144). Both Terriers recorded four birdies on Sunday.
The Terriers entered Sunday with a one-stroke lead over host Navy and turned in an impressive 295 on Sunday to finish at plus-18, two strokes ahead of the Midshipmen, and claim their first title since Sacred Heart's fall opener.
The team title came down to the very end as Chen and fellow co-captain
Victoria Takai both birdied their final hole to seal the victory. Han's victory was her first of the season and the second of her career.
Junior
Annika Manjunath finished tied for seventh at plus-7 (74-77--151) and recorded seven birdies on the weekend.
Takai shot a 6-over 78 on Sunday after carding an 80 on Saturday to finish tied for 19th at plus-14 (158).
Playing as individuals, sophomore
Hibiki Adachi (85-78--163) and senior
Meiqi Gao (81-83--164) finished a stroke apart in 30th and 31st, respectively.
Sophomore
Madison Takai shot 83 each day and ended up tied for 36th at plus-22 (166).
The Terriers now turn their focus to the Patriot League Championship, which will take place on April 18-20 at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
