Barnes, Kehm, Shannehan Earn All-New England Accolades
May 16, 2025 | Men's Lacrosse
BOSTON - Senior WIll Barnes, junior Connor Kehm and freshman Timothy Shannehan earned Second Team All-New England honors, as announced on Friday.
This is the second straight year that Barnes has received this accolade while Kehm and Shannehan are first-time honorees. All three were instrumental in the Terriers posting an 11-5 record and advancing to the Patriot League title game for a second straight year.
Barnes, a 2025 Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American, entered the NCAA Tournament ranked seventh in the nation with a .575 save percentage, which is second-best in program history behind All-American Christian Carson-Banister's mark of .586 in 2017. In fact, Barnes' save percentage number would be even higher if he did not play out of the cage on 10-man ride. However, Barnes was an important reason why BU boasted third-best ride in the country, as the Terriers held opponents to a .747 clear percentage in 2025. A two-time Second Team All-Patriot League selection and a member of the 2025 Academic All-Patriot League squad, Barnes joins Matt Garber as Terrier goalkeepers to twice be named to an All-New England squad.
Kehm was one of the best close defenders in the region this season. A Second Team All-Patriot League honoree and an Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American, Kehm led the Terriers with a career-high 30 caused turnovers and a career-best 56 ground balls. He is the fourth different Terrier in program history to record 30+ caused turnovers in a single season and entered the NCAA Tournament ranked seventh in the country in total caused turnovers and eighth in nation with 1.88 caused turnovers per game. Kehm collected at least two ground balls in 15 of 16 starts, including when he tallied a career-high seven ground balls and also had three caused turnovers against No. 12 Duke on April 5. Kehm twice secured a career-high four caused turnovers, doing so against Brown and against Colgate. He played some of his best lacrosse down the stretch, as he averaged 4.17 ground balls per game in April/May en route to being named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team.
Shannehan, the Patriot League Rookie of the Year and a First Team All-Patriot League selection, was one of the best freshmen in the country this season. The USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American leads all NCAA rookies with 61 points on 32 goals and 29 assists. He matched All-Americans Chris Gray and Vince D'Alto as the fastest Terriers to reach 50 points, doing so in 12 games. Shannehan recorded at least two points in 14 of his 16 starts, including a career-high five goals on Feb. 22 against Air Force. He set career bests in assists (5) and points (9) against Bucknell on March 8 and ended the season with seven goals and four assists across final three games.
This is the eighth straight season that at least one Terrier has earned All-New England accolades dating back to 2017 (no team was selected in 2020). In total, 23 different Terriers have combined for 35 All-New England selections.
