Prouty Earns Patriot League Midfielder of the Week Honor

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Fresh off her collegiate debut, Boston University women's soccer midfielder Georgia Prouty has been selected as the Patriot League Midfielder of the Week, the conference announced on Monday (Aug. 18).
Prouty is the first Terrier to pick up a weekly award this year and the first to garner Midfielder of the Week recognition since teammate Giulianna Gianino did on Sept. 30, 2024. She is also the first Terrier since teammate Kat Slott back in 2023 to win a Patriot League weekly award after making her collegiate debut in the prior week.
The Danvers, Mass. product got the scoring started for BU this season with a right-footed strike in the 31st minute of the 3-0 victory over America East preseason favorite New Hampshire on Aug. 17. Prouty became the first Terrier freshman in three seasons to score BU's first goal of the year. She finished the match with three shots in 63 minutes.
In addition to Prouty's honor, seniors Susan Shobeiri and Helene Tyburczy as well as sophomore Juliana Osterman were honorable mentions for the week. Shobeiri and Tyburczy helped BU record the clean sheet with just six shots allowed, while Osterman tallied three points with a goal and an assist.
BU returns to action on Thursday (Aug. 21) with a home contest against Fairfield. Opening kick from Nickerson Field is set for 6 p.m.
