Women’s Soccer Opens October at Army West Point on Wednesday

BOSTON – The Boston University women's soccer program seeks its first win in Patriot League play this season when it travels to Army West Point on Wednesday (Oct. 1). Opening kick is set for 6 p.m.
 
BU (3-4-3, 0-1-1 PL) aims to halt its six-game winless streak and two-game road losing streak. The Terriers are averaging 1.5 goals per game away from Nickerson Field.
 
Army West Point (7-3-1, 1-1-0 PL) hosts its first Patriot League matchup in 2025. Three of the Black Knights' next four games take place in West Point, N.Y.
 
Wednesday's game airs on ESPN+ at the top of the hour. Live statistics are available through Army West Point's athletic department while the Patriot League provides an international stream.
 
TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU notched its first Patriot League point with a scoreless draw at home against Loyola Maryland on Sept. 27.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Bridget Carr made her first start of the season, collecting three saves for an honorable mention in the league's weekly awards.

SERIES HISTORY
  • Wednesday marks the 17th all-time meeting between BU and Army West Point in a series that began in 1996.
  • The Terriers sport an 11-3-2 advantage in the rivalry.
  • BU's last victory in West Point took place when the Terriers secured the 2021 Patriot League regular season championship on Oct. 27, 2021 in a 2-1 result.
  • The Terriers won both matchups last year. Olivia Avellar scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute in the regular season finale on Oct. 30, 2024.
  • In the Patriot League semifinal round, Morgan Fagan leveled the game in the 68th minute before Margy Porta scored with 1:10 remaining in the second overtime for a 2-1 Terrier triumph.
