
Terriers Top New Hampshire, 2-1

DURHAM, N.H. – The Boston University women's ice hockey team (6-11-3, 5-6-2 HE) defeated New Hampshire (11-9-3, 5-6-2 HE) in a 2-1 decision on Saturday evening at the Whittemore Center.
The Wildcats opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal in the first frame before BU responded with under a minute to go to tie things up, 1-1. BU scored its second goal midway through the middle stanza to build a lead which it never relinquished, as it held on for the 2-1 road win.
Seniors Luisa Welcke and Sydney Healey scored for BU while senior Riley Walsh earned an assist. Graduate student Michelle Pasiechnyk made 25 saves between the posts in the win.

- BU went to the box for tripping with 10:43 to play in the first.
- The Terriers were successful on the penalty kill.
- UNH was called for holding at 13:09.
- The Wildcats scored, shorthanded, just 11 seconds into the Terrier power play.
- The penalty cleared without a response from the Terriers.
- With 47 seconds to play in the first, Walsh deflected the puck to Lu. Welcke, whose shot from the circle evened the score, 1-1.
- BU was called for tripping 33 seconds into the middle stanza and was successful on the penalty kill.
- UNH went to the box for cross checking with 12:24 to go in the second and the BU power play expired without a change in score.
- Thirty seconds after the power play ended, S. Healey took the puck up the length of the ice and scored from the point to give BU a 2-1 lead.
- The Wildcats were called for slashing with 1:41 to go in the frame.
- UNH was successful on the penalty kill, which carried over into the third period.
- BU was served a penalty for interference with 14:14 to go in regulation and was once again successful on the penalty kill.
- UNH pulled its netminder for an extra skater with 1:47 to play.
- The Terriers maintained pressure through the remaining minutes to hold on for the 2-1 road win.
