HOCKEY EAST TOURNAMENT NOTES
- BU is 29-16 in Hockey East tournament games with a 15-8 record in quarterfinal tilts.
- In its last quarterfinals appearance, third-seeded BU defeated eighth-seeded Vermont in overtime, 4-3, to advance to the semifinals in 2025.
- Prior to 2025, BU last won in the quarterfinals in 2019 when it won a best of three series against New Hampshire.
- In quarterfinals since the best of three series was changed to a one-game series, BU is 1-2.
- BU is 17-10 in Hockey East tournament games held at Walter Brown Arena.
OPENING ROUND RECAP
- BU shut out Providence, 3-0, in the opening round of the Hockey East tournament.
- Senior Sydney Healey scored BU's lamplighter shorthanded and was assisted by sophomore Kaileigh Quigg and senior Maeve Kelly.
- Healey then scored an empty netter late in the third with assists from Kelly and senior Luisa Welcke.
- Senior Lilli Welcke made it 3-0 with another empty net goal which came unassisted.
- Junior Mari Pietersen made 20 saves for her fourth career shutout.
- The win marked the first time in three appearances that BU has made it out of the opening round of the tournament.
- The shutout was BU's third of the season and Pietersen's first at home since Jan. 25, 2025.
- Healey's two goals mark the eighth time in her career she has scored two goals in a game.
- Kelly's two assists also match her career high in assists in a single game, with the last time being March 8, 2025, in the Hockey East championship game.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU's six shorthanded goals lead the league and are third in the nation.
- The Terriers' penalty killing percentage of 0.850 is good for fourth in Hockey East and 11th in the NCAA.
- S. Healey's three shorthanded goals are tied for the Hockey East lead and are second in the NCAA.
- Her four game-winning goals rank seventh in the league and 24th in the NCAA while her goals per game mark of 0.50 is fourth in the league and 28th in the NCAA.
- Quigg and S. Healey are the lone Terriers to surpass their 2024-25 points total of anyone who registered at least one point last season. Sophomore Keira Healey, juniors Greta Henderson and Neely Nicholson and senior Clara Yuhn have tied their season points total from last year.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- Northeastern is 26-7-1 this season with a 21-2-1 mark in Hockey East play.
- The Huskies last lost came against Boston College on Feb. 15 in overtime, 1-0.
- Northeastern is 11-3-1 since the start of the second half of the season.
- Prior to its loss to the Eagles, Northeastern was on a nine-game unbeaten streak.
- The Huskies, who finished first in the Hockey East standings, were the regular season champions.
