
Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 29 Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Boston University women's tennis team (4-8) fell to No. 29 Miami in a 4-0 decision on Wednesday afternoon.
The Hurricanes took the doubles point with wins at every line before winning at the three bottom lines in singles to secure the victory. Play continued at the remaining lines with Miami taking all the remaining points, bringing the final score to Miami 7, BU 0.
While the Terriers did not win any points in singles play, they did play close matches throughout the lineup. At the No. 6 spot, senior Emily Zhao played a close second set match but ultimately fell, 7-5. The same was true of sophomore Gabriella Mikaul who, at line one, played to a 7-5, 7-5 loss against No. 94 Raquel Gonzalez. The closest set of the day was played by junior Ellie Gyuro, whose second set went to a tiebreaker that ultimately resulted in a 7-6 (1) loss.
The Terriers wrap up their Florida trip on Friday (March 13) with a match at FAU. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
