Summary

Biography

Boston University head women's soccer coach Nancy Feldman welcomes former BU student-athlete Emma Clark back to the department as the program's new assistant coach, Feldman announced on Monday. "We are thrilled to have Emma return to Boston University as an assistant coach," Feldman said. "She was a fantastic student-athlete and a wonderful leader during her time as a player in our program and realized great success as part of America East and Patriot League championship teams." Clark played in the midfield for the Terriers from 2010-2013, helping the team win two America East Championships in 2010 and 2011 and a Patriot League Championship in the program's first year in the conference in 2013. She was named to the NSCAA All-Region team and to the all-conference first team as a junior and senior and went to the NCAA Tournament three times. After graduating from Boston University's College of Communication, Clark became a volunteer assistant coach at Maine before being promoted to an assistant coach prior to the 2015 season. While with the Black Bears, she helped guide the team to the America East Tournament semifinal round last season and coached a two-time America East Defender of the Year, an America East Rookie of the Year, an America East Goalkeeper of the year and 10 All-America East selections. "Emma has become a student of the game and has gained valuable experience these last two years as an assistant coach at the University of Maine," Feldman said. "She has been working for Scott Atherley, who I have always admired as an opposing coach. I know she has been well trained and is prepared to help elevate our team's soccer development, continue to recruit the highest quality student-athletes and be a terrific representative of Boston University." Outside of the collegiate game, Clark has been involved as a coach at the youth and high school level, working with the Seacoast United Soccer Club since 2010, most recently serving as the girls U-18 coach. She also helped coach at the Terrier Training camps while she was a BU student-athlete and worked as a skills coach for the Slocum Soccer School. "I am thrilled and honored to be coming back to my alma mater!" Clark said. "I have admired the program Coach Feldman has created ever since I was a player and to be able to work with her and Coach Knight is a privilege that I will cherish every day of my career. I had such an amazing experience as a student athlete at BU and I am extremely excited to work with a team of hard-working, driven individuals to help them develop not only as soccer players but also as people. There is nothing like the feeling you get walking out onto Nickerson Field to play and although it will be a little different standing on the sideline, I cannot wait to feel that way again."
