Brian Daccord Head Shot

Brian Daccord

Brian Daccord concluded his fourth season as the goaltending coach of the men's ice hockey team in 2024-25.

Daccord was instrumental in helping freshman Mikhail Yegorov make an immediate impact with the Terriers during the second semester of the 2024-25 season. Yegorov won the Eberly Award after stopping 43 of 44 shots he faced in the Beanpot title game against Boston College and backstopped BU to its third straight Frozen Four appearance.

During the 2023-24 season, Daccord mentored Mathieu Caron to a spot on the Hockey East All-Star Team in Caron's first year as a Terrier. Daccord also helped develop current AHL netminder Drew Commesso during Commesso's final two seasons at BU. Both goaltenders helped get BU to the Frozen Four.

Before arriving at BU, Daccord served as the Special Assistant to the General Manager and Director of Goaltending Operations for the Arizona Coyotes. Prior to joining the Coyotes, he spent five seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs in goaltending scouting and development. Daccord was the goaltending coach for Adler Mannheim in the DEL for six seasons, winning the German Championship in 2014-2015 under head coach Geoff Ward. He has also served on the staff of head coaches Pat Burns, Mike Keenan and Robbie Ftorek while serving as goaltending coach for the Boston Bruins.

A native of Montreal, Quebec, Daccord played college hockey at Merrimack, graduating in 1987. After graduating, Daccord embarked on a seven-year professional career in the Swiss National “A” League. Following retirement, he returned to North America and earned a master's degree in sports management and authored the book “Hockey Goaltending,” selling over 40,000 copies. His latest book, “How To Be A Goalie Parent,” is being released in the fall of 2021 in conjunction with his goaltending evaluation app named “SIG Game Day."

Dacord began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater while establishing Stop It Goaltending, LLC, which now trains over 1,000 goalies annually and has produced over 25 NHL draft picks. He is also the founder of the Bridge Program, Sport Performance Labs and the Stop It Goaltending GCG Prospects Event.
