HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boisvert knocked in a shot from the right wing just 6:02 into the game to give BU a 1-0 lead off a feed from Fondrk.
- At 9:12, Murtagh streaked ahead, got behind the defense and a pass from Fondrk found his tape as he deked around the goaltender and tucked the puck home for a 2-0 lead.
- Ritchie was the next scorer, going bar down over the goaltender's right shoulder at 15:25 in the first.
- Morello closed out the four-goal first period with a wraparound tally, hustling around defenders and depositing the puck in the net with 35 seconds remaining in the frame.
- The Red Leafs would score their first goal at 1:46 in the second period.
- At 3:58 in the frame, Harvey got on the board with a one-timer off assists from McLaughlin and Kim.
- Boisvert scored another power-play goal at 4:24 of the final period, this time pausing before firing the puck just under the crossbar.
- At 8:31 in the third, Simon Fraser's Matteo Speranza scored to make it 6-2 BU.
- With 9:30 remaining, Svoboda notched a goal after a pass from Frechette found his stick in front of the net and he could backhand it home through the five-hole.
- Harvey's second goal was also a one-timer on the power play, as he was all alone in the slot and fired it home for the eighth BU goal of the game.
- The eight goals are the most the Terriers have scored this season and are the most in any exhibition contest since the 8-2 win over the U.S. National Development Team on Oct. 6, 2016.
- The Terriers went 3-for-8 on the power play and held the Red Leafs scoreless on their lone power-play opportunity.
- Both freshman Carter Amico and junior Aiden Celebrini each blocked three shots.
- Freshmen combined for 12 of the Terriers' 23 points.
- The Terriers will return to Hockey East play with a home-and-home series with UMass beginning Friday, Jan. 9 in Amherst and concluding Saturday (Jan. 10) at Agganis Arena. Friday's puck drop is set for 7 p.m. and Saturday's is scheduled for 6 p.m.
