While at UIC, Sardin helped lead the Flames to two historic seasons, winning a program-record 26 games, taking home the first postseason championship (WBI) in program history and making the nation's largest turnaround (17 more wins than 2012-13) in 2013-14 and beginning 2014-15 with an 8-1 record, UIC's best nine-game start in the Division I era.
Prior to Illinois-Chicago, Sardin spent the 2012-13 season as an assistant at Mt. Olive College where she helped the team to an 18-12 record and an appearance in the NCAA Division II Championship, its second-ever postseason berth. Mt. Olive earned an automatic bid after winning the Conference Carolinas Title.
Before delving into the college basketball coaching scene, Sardin spent three years as the head coach at William Byrd High School in Vinton, Va. and played three years professionally (2007-10) in the European Basketball Federation in Madeira, Portugal where she was a three-time captain.
Sardin graduated from Virginia in 2006 with a degree in sociology. A three-year captain of the Cavaliers, she was selected as the team's Cavalier of the Year and Best Offensive Player as a senior. She started every game in her final season at UVa, leading the team in rebounds and ranking third in scoring.
