Players' Room

The Terriers' men's soccer team will be in a new players' locker room this year as a result of renovation completed in the varsity hallway.
"This is more than just a locker room," said head coach Neil Roberts, who is ranked among the nation's top-10 winningest Division 1 coaches. "This is a room that our players will be able to relax in as well as prepare for practices and games.
"I am very appreciative to University executive vice president Joe Mercurio for his efforts in including men's soccer in the renovation project."
Entering the locker room area, there will be a plaque commemorating each of the Terriers' academic and athletic All-Americans.
Then, once in the air-conditioned, fully carpeted room, each player will have his own spacious locker with stool. The room also includes a shoe rack, a big-screen TV that will be hooked up to a satellite, and shower and bathroom facilities.
Another of the highlights is a wall noting each of the NCAA appearances by the Terriers as well as a wall with a painted flag noting each of the home countries of a former or current Terrier soccer player. The list of countries includes the United States, as well as Canada, Norway, Finland, England, Ireland, Spain, Sudan, France, Nigeria, Scotland, Italy, Venezuela, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Greece, and Belgium.
"One of the things we wanted to spotlight in the room was the outstanding history men's soccer has enjoyed at Boston University over the past 50 years," said Roberts. "And, we have accomplished that goal.
"What I like most about the room, though, is the players have a place to go to where they can be comfortable as they prepare for practices and games."
