Terriers Capture Spring Beanpot Tourney Title

BOSTON - The Boston University men's soccer team continued its strong showing during the spring season when it defeated regional-rivals Harvard and Boston College to win the Beanpot Tournament at Nickerson Field on Saturday, April 12.
In the title game, the Terriers earned a 1-0 victory as junior Andrew Dorman (Flintshire, Wales) scored the game-winner off a direct kick in the first half. Freshman goalkeeper Chad Comroe (Dallas, TX) made two saves for the Terriers.
Terrier head coach Neil Roberts noted the strong play of juniors Michael Feely (Lemmington Spa, England), Jon Martin (North Brunswick, NJ), Dorman, sophomore Erik Evjen (Askim, Norway), and freshman Jamie Johnson (Brisbane, Australia) against the Eagles.
The Terriers battled to a 0-0 overtime tie with Harvard before winning, 4-3, on penalty kicks. Comroe held the Crimson scoreless during regulation and stopped one penalty kick. Junior Mark Richardson (New Castle, England), Martin, Johnson, and Feely converted on their penalty kicks.
With the two wins, the Terriers improve to 4-0-1 in the spring.
B.U. closes out its spring campaign when it hosts America East rival Vermont and Franklin Pierce on Saturday, April 19.
