Comroe, Erlichman Honored After Terriers Clinch Top Seed
October 25, 2004 | Men's Soccer
BOSTON - Sophomore goalkeeper Chad Comroe (Dallas, TX) and freshman forward Roland Erlichman (Paradise Valley, AZ), who helped the Terriers clinch the top seed at the 2004 America East Championship, were named America East Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, on Monday, Nov. 2. Erlichman was also named to the CollegeSoccerNews.com Team of the Week.
The duo guided the Terriers to a pair of wins last week, extending the team's season-long win streak to five games.
Comroe made a game-high six saves while posting his fourth consecutive shutout in B.U.'s 2-0 win over UMBC on Oct. 30. The victory gave the Terriers a first-round bye and the top seed at the upcoming league championship. Comroe also had a game-high five saves in a 2-0 non-conference win over Brown on Oct. 27.
This is the first-ever weekly honor for Comroe, who has not allowed a goal in 369:43 minutes of play. Among the America East leaders, he ranks fourth in goals against average (0.96) and fifth in saves per game (4.83).
Erlichman scored both of the game-winning goals last week, raising his team-leading point total to 18 off a team-high seven goals and four assists. In America East, the freshman forward ranks first among rookies and sixth overall in goals (0.44 gpg) and seventh in scoring (1.12 ppg).
For Erlichman, this is the third consecutive America East Rookie of the Week honor, and fourth on the season. He also earned the award on Oct. 4, Oct. 18, and Oct. 26.
Boston University closes out its regular-season with a road game at Maine on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 2:00 p.m. A victory would give the Terriers their first America East regular season title since 2001.
