Terriers To Host Seawolves In America East Semifinals

BOSTON - Top-seeded Boston University will host fifth-seeded Stony Brook in an America East Championship semifinal game at Nickerson Field on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 7:00 p.m.
Boston University, the America East Co-Regular Season Champion, earned a first-round bye and homefield advantage in the playoffs by posting a 6-2-1 record in league action and a 9-7-1 overall record. The Terriers will be aiming for their first America East title since 1997 and sixth in program history.
The Seawolves battled back from a 1-0 deficit in its first round game against fourth-seeded Vermont on Nov. 6, tying the score 1-1 in regulation and winning 5-4 on penalty kicks.
Earlier this season, Stony Brook defeated B.U., 2-1, in New York on Oct. 9. Since losing to the Seawolves, the Terriers have won five of seven games. Prior to the game this season, the two teams had met just twice before, with B.U. winning both games. The Terriers won, 6-1, on Oct. 21, 2001, and 4-0 on Oct. 29, 2003. Both games were played at Nickerson Field.
B.U. is 7-1-1 at home this season, out-scoring its opponents, 18-9, at Nickerson Field.
Offensively, the Terriers are led by the tandem of freshman forward Roland Erlichman (Paradise Valley, AZ) and junior forward Sedrick Chin (St. Mary's, Jamaica). The duo has scored 14 of the team's 29 goals, with Erlichman leading all scorers with eight goals and four assists for a team-high 20 points.
Sophomore goalkeeper Chad Comroe (Dallas, TX) enters the post-season with a 0.96 goals against average and a .829 save percentage. Comroe had posted six shutouts this season, including four straight heading into post-season play.
With a B.U. win, the Terriers would host the championship game against an opponent yet to be determined on Sunday, Nov. 14, at 1:00 p.m.
