BOSTON - The 2004 Boston University men's soccer team, which captured the America East Championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, placed four Terriers on the NSCAA/adidas All-New England Teams.
Junior forward Sedrick Chin (St. Mary's, Jamaica) was named to the All-New England Second Team while junior midfielder Jamie Johnson (Brisbane, Australia), sophomore back Zach Kirby (Marietta, GA), and freshman forward Roland Erlichman (Paradise Valley, AZ) were named to the All-New England Third Team.
Chin totaled a career-high 18 points in 2004, scoring seven goals and chipping in four assists as the Terriers' third-leading scorer. An America East All-Conference Second Team selection, Chin was also an All-New England Third Team honoree as a sophomore in 2003.
An America East All-Conference First Team pick, Johnson led the Terriers and ranked third in America East with a career-best nine assists in 2004. Johnson also scored five goals - including three game-winners - to total a career-high 19 points. The junior midfielder was also selected to the America East All-Tournament Team.
Kirby anchored the Terrier defense which allowed just two goals during B.U.'s America East Championship run. The sophomore back appeared in 17-of-21 games, missing four games with an ankle injury. An America East All-Rookie Team selection last season, Kirby also earned All-Conference Second Team honors in 2004.
Leading the Terriers and ranking fifth in America East in scoring, Erlichman scored a team-high nine goals and had five assists for 23 points in 2004. The forward became the first Terrier freshman to lead the team in scoring since Nick Bone totaled 43 points in 1994. Erlichman was also an All-Rookie Team selection in 2004.
The Terriers will return nine starters and 22 letterwinners from this year's squad for the 2005 season.
