BOSTON - After tallying three assists during Saturday’s season-closing 6-2 win over Northeastern, freshman Melissa Anderson has been named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday. Anderson ended the season leading her team in assists, totaling 22 in 28 games.
Anderson assisted on sophomore Erin Seman’s game-winning goal, and then proceeded to assists on Seman’s next two goals, as they both ended the game with three points. Seman was named to the HE Honor Roll for registering the first hat trick for herself and the BU women’s ice hockey program.
In her rookie outing, Anderson led the team with 34 points, becoming the first Terrier to break the 30-point barrier. On top of her 22 assists, she also scored 12 goals, including three on the power play and two game winners.
