Terriers Set for America East Championship Game with Binghamton

BOSTON - The Boston University men's soccer team and Binghamton will meet for the 2008 Men's Soccer Championship in a rematch of the 2004 title game won by the Terriers on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Nickerson Field.

Both teams posted thrilling victories in the semifinal round to advance to the final. The Terriers' Richy Dorman snapped a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 81st minute to give his team a 2-1 win over No. 4 Vermont and send BU to the title game for the first time since 2004. Jin Oh scored the first tally for the Terriers with less than five minutes left in the first half, but the Catamounts evened the score just 3:09 into the second stanza.
The Bearcats' Cameron Keith scored 1:17 into the second overtime to stun No. 2 Albany, 1-0, to put his team in the championship game for the sixth straight year. After up and down scoreless action for over 100 minutes, Keith, took a feed from senior midfielder Cody Germain that snuck by Albany goalkeeper Steward Ceus and deposited the ball in an empty net. The six straight finals appearance for Binghamton breaks Boston University's previous mark for consecutive showings of five from 1990-1994
The America East champion will learn its NCAA fate on Monday, Nov. 17 at approximately 6 p.m. on ESPNews. The league could also receive its second-straight at-large bid with all four semifinalists on the bubble.
