Former Boston University All-American Matt Gilroy broke a 2-2 tie with the game winner for his first NHL goal on Monday evening, leading the New York Rangers to a 3-2 road victory over the New Jersey Devils. Gilroy's goal got past NHL legend Martin Brodeur and helped him earn the game's first-star honor.
Gilroy, who recorded a game-high six shots and finished with a plus-1 rating, was one of four former BU captains involved in the game, joining teammate Chris Drury, New Jersey forward Jay Pandolfo and Rangers assistant coach Mike Sullivan.
