
Women's Swimming and Diving Wins Terrier Invitational

BOSTON - The Boston University women's swimming team took home top honors at its annual Terrier Invitational on Sunday evening. Brigette O'Shaughnessy and Amanda Schmitz broke school records in the 1650 free and 200 fly, respectively, as the Terriers completed a record-setting weekend, where in all seven records fell on the women's side.
In the first event of the finals, O'Shaughnessy bested her own record from a year ago when she clocked in at 16:56.72 in the 1650 free - nearly 10 seconds faster than the next closest competitor, while Schmitz capped off her incredible weekend with yet another record as she broke her own mark in the 200 fly with a time of 2:01.56.
Katie Radin followed it up with a second-place finish in the 200 back, clocking in at 30.70, while Emily Munday picked up another second place in the 100 free in 50.77. Connors touched the wall in 2:16.91 in the 200 breaststroke to take home second place.
The quartet of Lauren Drake, Kara Zebrowski, Emily Munday and Maria McIntyre capped off the weekend with a victory in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:26.30.
BU returns to the pool on Dec. 5, when it hosts Stony Brook at Competition Pool at 1:30 p.m.
