Senior Jason Lawrence of the national champion Boston University men's ice hockey team was signed to an Amateur Tryout (ATO) agreement with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL) this week.
Lawrence scored a team-high 25 goals this past season to help the Terriers claim their first NCAA championship since 1995. He set career bests in both goals and points (39).
The Bruins are currently facing Hershey in the Eastern Conference Finals of the Calder Cup Playoffs. Lawrence will join two former Terriers in the series, as Kevin Schaeffer also plays for the Bruins and Chris Bourque is a member of the Bears, who lead the best-of-seven series, 3-1.
