Former Boston University men's hockey standouts Chris Drury and Ryan Whitney earned silver medals at the 2010 Olympic Games on Sunday following Team USA's 3-2 overtime loss to Canada in the gold-medal game at Canada Hockey Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Team USA won all five of its games, including a 5-3 win over Canada in the preliminary round, leading up to the gold-medal showdown and was the top seed entering the medal round.
Drury, who also earned a silver medal as member of the U.S. Olympic team at the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City, scored two goals in the tournament, including the eventual game winner in a 6-1 victory over Norway. He also scored the go-ahead goal in last Sunday's 5-3 win against Canada.
Whitney becomes the 16th former Terrier to earn an Olympic medal and the seventh since "The BU Four" claimed the gold in 1980.
