Hockey East Tournament Pairings Set; BU Opens vs. Merrimack

The 26th Annual Hockey East Tournament will begin on Friday, March 12, with best-of-three quarterfinal match-ups on campus sites. Boston University finished the regular season in a three-way tie for third in the league standings with Maine and UMass Lowell and will be the No. 3 seed thanks to season series wins over both the Black Bears and the River Hawks.
Here are all four of the quarterfinal pairings:
#8 Vermont at #1 New Hampshire
#7 Massachusetts at #2 Boston College
#6 Merrimack at #3 Boston University
#5 UMass Lowell at #4 Maine
The opening game of the BU-Merrimack series on Friday will be broadcast live on NESN. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
