The Colorado Avalanche have announced the signings of former Terriers Brandon Yip and David Van der Gulik. Yip re-signed with the Avalanche after a strong rookie campaign while Van der Gulik joins a large group of former BU standouts in the Colorado system.
Yip, who was a restricted free agent, signed a contract for two years and $1.45 million. Last season, he led all NHL rookies in goals per game (0.34) by tallying 11 in just 32 games with the Avalanche.
Van der Gulik was most recently in the Calgary Flames organization and finished second in scoring for their AHL club - the Abbottsford Heat - last season. Back in the 2008-09 campaign, Van der Gulik made his NHL debut with six appearances with the Flames.
