The Boston University men's lacrosse team will host Providence on Tuesday night at Nickerson Field. Opening draw is set for 6 p.m.
Tuesday's tilt was originally slated to take place at Providence, but was moved to Nickerson due to unplayable field conditions. It will be the third straight home game for BU (0-3, 0-1 Patriot League) and the Terriers are now in the midst of a five-game homestand. They played their best game of the year this past Saturday in a 10-7 loss to No. 14 Lehigh. BU led the Mountain Hawks after the first quarter and held them scoreless in the final 15 minutes.
Freshman Christian Carson-Banister has stood tall between the pipes for the Terriers during the last two games. He has made 30 saves in those contests, including 16 against Lehigh. Carson-Banister ranks second in the conference and tied for 15th in the nation with an average of 12 saves per game.
The Terrier offense has improved its goal total in each game and six different players found the back of the net against Lehigh. Freshmen Pat Myers and Adam Schaal each have three goals this season and Myers has added a team-best four assists to lead the Terriers with seven points. Freshman Sam Talkow has won over half his faceoffs this season and has collected a team-high 19 ground balls.
Providence is 1-0 after defeating Vermont, 8-6, on Saturday. Freshman Alex Corboy paced the Friars' offense with three points in his collegiate debut. Corboy tallied his first career hat trick with two of his three goals coming in the first quarter. Senior goalie Tyler Himes made nine saves to earn the road victory.
Following Tuesday's contest, BU will welcome Vermont to Nickerson Field on Saturday (March 1) at 12 p.m.
