The No. 7/8 Boston University men's ice hockey team will continue its stretch of three games in five days on Friday (Oct. 30) when it visits No. 17 Merrimack for a Hockey East tilt at Lawler Arena. Game time in North Andover is set for 7 p.m.

The Terriers (2-2-0, 1-1-0 Hockey East) will be looking to rebound from a 4-2 road loss against Connecticut on Tuesday in the back end of a home-and-home series.

The Warriors (2-0-2, 0-0-2 HE) are undefeated thus far and skated to a pair of 1-1 draws last weekend with UMass Lowell to kick off their conference schedule.

BU and Merrimack have played 108 times since first meeting on Dec. 11, 1964, and the Terriers hold a commanding 84-16-8 (.815) advantage. The Terriers are 10-1-2 in the past 13 meetings and 30-5-4 against the Warriors since the start of the 2004-05 season. In 40 visits to Lawler Arena, BU is 26-9-5.

The teams faced off in last season's Hockey East quarterfinals with the Terriers earning a sweep by scores of 6-2 and 5-0 at Agganis Arena. In a home-and-home series on Dec. 5-6, Matt Lane recorded the equalizer in a 1-1 draw at Merrimack before the Terriers posted a 4-2 home win the following night thanks to a hat trick by Danny O'Regan.

O'Regan has been impressive against Merrimack during his career, totaling 12 points (5g, 7a) in 11 contests. Classmate Sean Maguire is a perfect 3-0-0 in goal versus the Warriors with a 1.33 goals-against average and a .964 save percentage.

The Warriors opened the season with home wins over Clarkson (7-1) and St. Lawrence (3-1). Senior Brian Christie leads the team in points with six on two goals and four assists. Classmate Ben Bahe has four points on the strength of a team-best three goals. Fellow senior Justin Hussar (1g, 3a) and sophomore Aaron Titcomb (4a) also have four points.

Sophomore goaltender Collin Delia has started all four games and allowed one goal each outing. He boasts an 0.97 goals-against average and a .953 save percentage.

The Warriors are one of three teams in the country with a perfect penalty kill thus far, going 15-for-15.

Freshman Ryan Cloonan (2g, 3a) and O'Regan (1g, 4a) lead BU in points with five apiece. Sophomore Brandon Fortunato has four points (2g, 2a) in three games, ranking second amongst defenseman nationally in points per game (1.33). Freshman Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson also has four points (1g, 3a).

The Terriers have outshot their opponents by a 149-91 margin thus far this season. Six Terriers have recorded at least 10 shots with senior Ahti Oksanen leading the way with 17.
