CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - After collecting three singles victories over spring break, Boston University women's tennis freshman Iryna Kostirko was named the Patriot League Corvias Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Kostirko was the only Terrier in the top three slots to win all three singles matches in team victories over Southern Miss, Western Kentucky and Florida International.
The freshman won in straight sets in two of the matches and outlasted Western Kentucky's Andrea Christopoulou 3-6, 6-4, 10-4 at No. 3 singles in a third. She also teamed with Kim McCallum for a 2-1 mark at No. 3 doubles.
The award marks the fourth this season for BU after junior Johanna Hyoty won three straight earlier in the year.
