
Terriers to Face UMass Lowell at Case on Saturday

BOSTON – The Boston University women's basketball team will continue its homestand on Saturday (Nov. 26) when it welcomes UMass Lowell to Case Gym. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
The Terriers will host their "Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer" game, which supports the Go4theGoal Foundation in helping kids with cancer achieve their goals. The student-athletes will be wearing the foundation's Gold Laces during the game, while the coaches will sport gold ribbons to support children battling cancer and to raise awareness for the cause. Donations will be collected at the game that will go directly to the Go4theGoal Foundation.One team will come away with its first victory of the season on Saturday. The Terriers dropped to 0-4 on Tuesday following a hard-fought loss to Harvard on Tuesday in their hope opener while the River Hawks (0-5) most recently fell at Indiana, 79-45, on Wednesday.
The teams met for the first time last season with the River Hawks earning a 70-57 home victory on the strength of a 23-point night by Lindsey Doucette. Sarah Hope tallied 20 points, including six 3-pointers, for BU.
Junior Kayla Gibbs and freshman Megan Hendrick are tied for the UMass Lowell scoring lead at 8.6 points per game while senior Nicole Hayner is right behind at 8.4 ppg. Gibbs leads in rebounding (5.0 rpg) and is shooting a team-best 60 percent from the floor.
Through four games, Hope leads the Terriers with 13.3 ppg with 14 of her 19 made field goals coming from behind the arc. Senior Meghan Green (9.3 ppg) and junior Kara Sheftic (9.0 ppg) rank second and third, respectively.
Junior Sophie Beaudry is averaging a squad-best 6.8 rebounds per contest while senior Courtney Latham is pulling down six boards a game. Junior Corrine Williams leads the team in assists (3.3 apg) and field-goal percentage (.583) and Latham is tops in steals (2.5 spg).
The Terriers will conclude their three-game homestand on Monday (Nov. 28) when they host New Hampshire at 7 p.m.
