
No. 71 Old Dominion Defeats Women's Tennis, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Despite claiming wins in the top singles and doubles slots, the Boston University women's tennis team fell to No. 71 Old Dominion, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at Brown.
With their seventh win in nine matches, the Monarchs improve to 8-5, while the Terriers fall to 6-7. ODU won two of three doubles matches for the first point and then captured four of the six singles points.
Senior Johanna Hyoty led BU by first teaming with freshman Sabrina Faybyshev for a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles and then rallying from behind for a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory in the No. 1 singles slot.
Junior Barbara Rodriguez also had a strong performance in singles action by rolling to a 6-4, 6-4 win at line 6 in singles.
ODU won all four singles points in straight sets and the two doubles matches by identical score of 6-3.
The Terriers will next host UConn on Sunday, March 24. The Senior Day ceremony recognizing Lauren Davis, Johanna Hyoty and Kim McCallum will be held prior to the 3 p.m. start time.
