
Men's Tennis Falls at Skidmore, 7-2

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Kicking off a two-match road trip in New York, the Boston University men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision at Skidmore on Saturday afternoon.
Ranked 24th in the ITA Division III national rankings, the Thoroughbreds (6-2) swept through doubles action by a combined score of 24-13 and then claimed four singles points, including three in straight sets.
Senior Stefan Lemire and junior Jake De Vries led the Terriers (6-8) with singles wins at lines 2 and 5, respectively. Lemire rallied from a set down to pull out a 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 win, and De Vries drpped just three games in a dominating 6-0, 6-3 performance.
Junior Jay Leelavanich went up against Kai Yuen Leung, who currently ranks fourth-nationally in the ITA Division III singles poll, in the top slot. Leung pulled out a tough first set and went on to defeat Leelavanich, 6-4, 6-1.
The Terriers will next resume Patriot League play at Colgate on Sunday (May 27) with doubles set to begin at 12 p.m.
