Day 1 Recap
BOSTON - The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams will host the 2017 John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday and Saturday at the BU Track and Tennis Center. The women's competition starts on Friday at 12 p.m. followed by the men's on Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The Terriers will look to build on last week's performance at BU's Multi-Team Meet that saw both teams combine for 12 first-place finishes. Freshman Paul Luevano made his debut in the 1-mile run finishing first with a personal-best time of 4:06.46 which is the top time in the Patriot League as well as the 34th-best in NCAA Division I. Luevano beat out runners from Boston College, Sacred Heart and UMass-Lowell and was named Patriot League Male Track Athlete of the Week.
For the women, reigning Patriot League Indoor Female Track Athlete of the Year Toria Levy won the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.71 and also finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 25.14. For her efforts, Levy won Patriot League Female Track Athlete of the Week honors.
After this week's competition, the Terriers will host the Scarlett and White Invitational on Friday, Feb. 3 and Saturday, Feb. at BU's Track and Tennis Center.
