BOSTON – Behind freshman Anna Heilferty's game-winning goal in the sixth minute, the Boston University women's soccer team closed out its non-conference slate with a 1-0 shutout over Harvard Wednesday night at Nickerson Field.

How it Happened

Working in transition, Christina Wakefield streaked down the middle of the field before splitting a pair of defenders with a through ball to Heilferty just inside the box.
With a trio of defenders closing in, Heilferty took a touch to her left before ripping her fourth score of the season into the back of the net.
Wakefield nearly netted a score of her own in the 37th minute, firing a shot that rimmed off the left post.
BU would continue to test Harvard's backline throughout the half, finishing with a 11-2 shot advantage after the opening stanza.
Harvard picked up its offense tempo in the second half, but had no answer for Heilferty's score, as BU held on for its seventh shutout of the season.

Game Notes

Amanda Fay earned her sixth shutout in between the pipes and finished with four saves.
BU registered a commanding 20-6 advantage in shots and held a 7-4 edge in shots on goal. The Terriers have now outshot their opponent in seven straight games.
The Terriers improved to 9-7-5 in the all-time series and won its first game against the Crimson since 2014.
Wednesday's result marked the fourth time in the last five contests between the Terriers and Crimson that was decided by one goal.
