The Boston University women's ice hockey team will travel to Yale on Thursday night, with puck drop at Ingalls Rink scheduled for 7 p.m.
HISTORY AGAINST YALE
- BU is 3-1-1 against Yale, including a 0-1-1 mark at Ingalls Rink.
- The Terriers have won all three meetings at Walter Brown Arena, including a 7-1 win on Nov. 3, 2015.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
- Yale enters Thursday with a 3-7-4 record after earning a 5-4 OT win over Union and suffering a 3-1 setback to RPI last weekend.
- Freshman Greta Skarzynski leads Yale in both points (12) and goals (6) while senior Mallory Souliotis is the team's leader in assists with eight.
- Sophomore Tera Hoffman has started eight of the nine games in which she has appeared.
- Hoffman has posted a 2-4-3 record with a .909 save percentage and a 2.56 goals-against average.
TERRIERS PLAYING WELL ON THE ROAD
- BU has played well away from Walter Brown over the last month.
- The Terriers are 2-0-2 since Oct. 29 in true road games and are 3-1-2 when neutral site contests are included.
- That one loss came against No. 1 Wisconsin.
- In all but one of the Terriers' eight games away from Walter Brown Arena, they have scored first.
BACH BEST IN NOVEMBER
- Senior Victoria Bach was named the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association National College Player of the Month on Wednesday.
- She is the first Terrier to earn this national honor.
- This came one day after she received Player of the Month recognition from Hockey East.
- Bach led the nation with 21 points thanks to an NCAA-best 13 goals in addition to eight assists.
- She was also first among NCAA skaters in goals per game (1.62), points per game (2.62), shots on goal (61), shots on goal per game (7.62) and plus-minus (+17).
- An NCAA-high 11 of Bach's 13 goals came at even strength, and Bach also led the nation with 10 goals away from home.
- No other player in the country recorded more multi-goal games (4) than Bach, and she was also the only player in the nation to record two hat tricks in November.
- A native of Milton, Ontario, Bach was held without a point just once in November and finished the month on a six-game point streak.
WHAT A WEEK FOR LESLIE
- Senior Rebecca Leslie was outstanding for the Terriers in three games this past week.
- No other NCAA player recorded more goals (5) or more points (8) than Leslie, who also added three assists.
- She began her week with two goals and two assists, including a helper on the game-winner, in a 6-4 win over Brown on Nov. 28.
- Leslie then tallied a goal and an assist in a 2-2 tie at No. 2 Boston College on Friday before lighting the lamp twice more against the Eagles on Saturday.
- Leslie enters Thursday on an eight-game point streak (9g, 11a).
DYNAMIC DUO
- Since Nov. 10, seniors Victoria Bach and Rebecca Leslie have been the most prolific point producers in the country.
- Both players have recorded 20 points during that eight-game stretch, with Bach leading the NCAA in goals (12) and Leslie leading the nation in assists (11).
- They have both averaged an impressive 2.50 points per game during that time, which is best in the NCAA.
- Only one other NCAA player recorded a point in as many games (8) as Bach and Leslie did, with that duo having never been held off the scoresheet.
THE THIRD PART OF THE EQUATION
- A main reason for Bach and Leslie's success has been the play of their linemate, junior Mary Grace Kelley.
- •Skating on the left wing, Kelley has recorded career highs in goals (3), assists (7) and points (10) this season.
- That total includes the primary helper on Leslie's first-period strike against BC on Dec. 2.
- Kelley's best game came at Vermont on Nov. 17 when she tallied a career-high three assists in a 7-1 victory.
NEXT UP
- BU will finish the first semester on Saturday at No. 8/10 Providence.
- Puck drop is set for 2 p.m.
