Williams, Oluwadara to Compete at NCAAs Friday & Saturday

2017 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship Central
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Seniors Cameron Williams and David Oluwadara of the Boston University men's track & field team will compete in the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships beginning on Friday, March 10 and concluding Saturday, March 11 in College Station, Texas.
Williams will compete in the 200m dash after breaking his own school record with a time of 20.57 at Patriot League Championships on Feb. 19. Williams' time is the fifth fastest in the country this year.
This will be the second-consecutive trip to nationals for Williams, who qualified in the 200m dash last year and finished 10th in the semifinals with a time of 21.10, just .01 in back of the final qualifying time that advanced to the finals.
David Oluwadara qualified in the triple jump after his leap of 16.07m (52' 8.75") at The Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational on Feb. 4th. Oluwadara's jump broke his own school record and is tied for the 10th best mark in the nation this year. The Boston, Mass. native becomes the first Boston University horizontal jumper to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Duane Carlisle qualified in the triple jump in 1985.
Each event at the NCAA Indoors will include the top 16 qualifiers, while relays feature the top 12 teams from the indoor season.
Williams will compete as the No. 5 seed with his time 200m time of 20.57. The current 200m indoor leader is Alabama's Jereem Richards who has the nation's fastest 200m time of 20.34 (on oversized track). Tennessee's Christian Coleman is ranked No. 2 with a time of 20.46 while USC's Just'N Thymes is the third seed (20.47) and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake, also of USC, is fourth (20.49).
The men's 200m semifinals are schedule to begin at 8:45 pm (ET) on Friday with the finals set for Saturday at 6:50 pm (ET).
Oluwadara will enter the championships with the 10th-best triple jump in the country at 16.07m (52' 8¾"), which is tied with Nebraska's Kaiwan Culmer. The top seed in the event is Arkansas' Clive Pullen (17.19m, 56'4¾") followed by Florida's KeAndre Bates (16.81m, 55' 2") at No 2 and Clayton Brown (16.58m, 54' 4¾") at No. 3.
The men's triple jump competition will begin at 6 pm (ET) on Saturday.
ESPN3 will stream the meet live on March 10 starting at 6:25 p.m. ET and March 11 starting at 4:55 p.m. ET. A re-broadcast of the championship will take place on Sunday, March 12 starting at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
