BOSTON – The United Women's Lacrosse League (UWLX) held its 2017 draft Monday evening, as senior Elisabeth Jayne was selected by the Boston Storm to take part in the professional league's second season.
Jayne is in the midst of a breakout season, as she is tied for the team lead in goals (25) and ranks third in points (29). The Merrimac, Massachusetts native has posted eight multi-goal games, including four hat tricks, and owns a .739 shot on goal percentage.
Jayne becomes the second Terrier to be drafted by the Boston Storm, and will join Danielle Etrasco '13, who was the first Terrier to be drafted into the UWLX a season ago. Three Terriers will be a part of the league as McKinley Curro '10 was signed Long Island Sound following the inaugural draft.
The 2017 UWLX season is set to begin May 27, with all four teams playing a seven-match regular season that continues through July 21. The 2017 UWLX Playoffs will commence with two semifinal matches on July 29, and the championship game will occur the following week on August 2.
