Men's Basketball to Visit Dartmouth Thursday Night on NESN

BOSTON – Riding a three-game win streak, the Boston University men's basketball team will visit Ivy League foe Dartmouth on Thursday night with the NESN broadcast set to begin at 7 p.m.
The Terriers (6-4) are coming off an extended break following 79-60 home win over UMass Lowell on Dec. 4, while the Big Green (6-5) are coming off Monday's 82-73 home win against Sacred Heart.TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers are 4-3 on the road this season with wins at Northeastern (77-74), Albany (71-61), New Hampshire (82-53) and Elon (65-58) … The losses occurred at Eastern Michigan (80-62), Drexel (86-67) and Rutgers (54-44).
- BU is facing an Ivy League team other than Harvard for the first time since winning at home against Cornell (70-57) in 2012.
- In last week's 79-60 home win over UMass Lowell, the Terriers had two players finish with 20+ points for the first time since winning at Lehigh in the 2018 PL Quarterfinals.
- Junior Max Mahoney is averaging a team-high 15.0 ppg while ranking 17th nationally in field goal shooting percentage (.655) and is also second on the team in rebounds (5.1 rpg) after claiming his second-ever double-double against the River Hawks.
- Junior Tyler Scanlon is second on the team at 14.2 ppg and leads the team in rebounds (5.4 rpg), assists (3.3 apg) and steals (1.1 spg).
- Sophomore Javante McCoy is also averaging double figures at 10.8 ppg while posting a team-high 17 made 3-pointers.
- BU's bench has outscored opponents in nine of 10 games with freshmen Jack Hemphill, Jordan Guest and Fletcher Tynen combining for 16.9 ppg.
- The Terriers are averaging 71.3 ppg while shooting 47.4 percent from the field but only own a positive scoring margin of 5.2, as opponents are averaging 5.3 more made free throws per game.
- Defensively, BU entered the week 17th nationally in holding opponents to 27.4 percent from behind the arc, 64th in scoring defense (66.1 ppg) and 68th in limiting teams to just 40.2 FG%.
- The Big Green are 4-1 at home following wins over Sacred Heart (82-73) and Maine (78-52) … The lone loss came against Quinnipiac (64-59).
- Dartmouth is 1-0 against the Patriot League with an 82-80 win at Loyola Maryland … The Big Green also shared one non-conference opponent with BU, posting a 91-77 victory against Albany.
- Dartmouth features five players in double figures with 6-foot-7 forward Chris Knight averaging a team-high 14.9 ppg and 7.5 rpg … 6-foot-2 guard Brendan Barry is second on the team in scoring at 13.1 ppg while averaging a team-high 3.8 apg.
- 6-foot-8 forward Adrease Jackson (11.6 ppg, 6.9 rpg) has combined with Knight for 28 blocks.
- Dartmouth is averaging 79.6 ppg while shooting 46.4 percent from the field and is nearly doubling opponents in made 3-pointers (11.7-6.5) … Opponents are being held to 71.6 ppg and 43.6 FG%.
- The Terriers are facing Dartmouth for the first time since claiming a 65-53 road win in 2002.
- Dartmouth leads the all-time series, 21-7, with the first matchup taking place in 1924-25.
- Head coach Joe Jones went 8-6 against the Big Green as head coach at Columbia.
